This is what our downtown looked like this past weekend. The whole historic downtown area of Exeter was covered in brightly colored knitted accessories. Nothing was forsaken—trees, hydrants, walls and even trash cans got some hand-knitted love. It was honestly such a great (and really cool) thing to see. The event was to bring awareness and raise funds for Womenade of Greater Squamscott, which is a nonprofit organization located here in the Seacoast. They help local people in crisis to pay bills, fix cars, buy medications and food through well established reliable channels.
The same group did this last year as well (raised $4,500!), but since I was traveling at the time I missed it. I was so excited to be able to see it this year. Laurel and I walked up and down the street to see every single piece. Each one with its own theme and personality. These pictures are just a few of the pictures we took, there are so many more. All I can say, is that I am more excited than ever to open my doors in such a creative community!
