July Class Schedule

July

It is finally here! I have added a few new classes (yoga bag and mittens! Yay!) and put some others on hold for the time being.

The most exciting addition to the July/August schedule is the arrival of Camp Pintuckaway! We have put together some fun and exciting sessions for kids ages 8-13, so if you or someone you know needs a little break this summer from the kids, send them our way. Space is limited, so don’t hesitate!

Knitting 101: Always wanted to learn to knit? Come and learn the fundamentals of the relaxed art of knitting. At the end of this two session class your new skills will include how to knit, purl, cast on and cast off with a cute washcloth to prove it. We provide you with needles and yarn, just bring yourself and your creative spirit! (4 hours total) $55

New Class! Knitting 301: Learn almost everything you need to know make a pair of socks for your hands — or mittens! You will learn the exciting world of magic loop, how to work two-at-a-time, how to shape with increases and decreases and make yourself a custom fit pair of mittens. Skills required: cast off, knit, purl, knitting in the round. Materials Required: Size 7 40” (or longer) circular needles, 1 skein worsted weight yarn (4 hours total) $55

Sewing 101: Everything you need to learn the basics of machine sewing are all wrapped in a nice pillowcase! You will learn how to thread a machine, adjust tension, cut fabric, and sew seams. Requires: 3/4 yard of fabric and 1/4 yard of contrasting fabric. Skills Needed: none! (2 hours total) $35

New Class! Kid’s Sewing 101: Geared for kids ages 8-13, they will learn basic machine sewing skills and make a cute and stylish pillow. Requires: 1 fat quarter (2 hours total), $35

New Class! Sewing 102: Sew a stylish yoga mat bag that will be the envy of all at the gym. In this one day class you will learn how to create a lined bag with a drawstring closure with a long sturdy handle. Requires: 1 1/4 yard of medium weight fabric, 1 yard of lining fabric, 3/4 yard 1/4” cord or ribbon (3 hours total), $45

New Class! Sewing 202: Enter the world of garment sewing with the perfect flared skirt. This class will help you practice with reading a pattern, sewing and finishing seams, hemming and installing a zipper. We will sew the flattering Hollyburn from Sewaholic Pattern. Requires: pattern, pre-washed fabric and all notions according to pattern (6 hours total), $65
Skills required: Sewing 101 or basic machine skills

Sewing 201: Grainline Tee Learn how to make a this wardrobe staple and open up a world of endless possibilities. We will learn how to attach a sleeve, sew a curved neckline with bias tape and deal with a curved hemline. Requires: pattern, pre-washed fabric (according to pattern back), matching thread. (6 hours total) $65

Introducing! Camp Pintuckaway: Want a fun and creative way for your kids to spend their mornings? This is the camp for you! A three-day camp from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday with five different sessions available through July and August. Skills in each session vary but will cover skills like machine sewing, knitting and hand stitching. Healthy snacks, all materials and immense fun are included. Space is extremely limited. $180 for each set of 3 days (one session)  (12 hours total) Ages: 8-13 years old

Knitting Session I: July 27, 29, 31 A knitted headband or coin purse

Sunday Open Craft: Come work on your current hand-held project with us on the deck (wether permitting) or inside in our Stitch Lounge. If you do need a machine, they will be available for use for a small fee. Beverages and snacks will be provided.

Sip & Stitch: What better way to spend your Friday night then in our cute shop with like-minded crafty folk. Bring your current hand-held project along and get ready for a great time. If you do need a machine, they will be available for use for a small fee. Beverages and snacks will be provided.
