Did you guys know that there is a whole month dedicated to sewing? September is officially National Sewing Month and we here at Pintuck & Purl think that is pretty cool. We know not everyone sews, but we do know that there are a lot of us that do. You know what we also love to do? We love to TALK about sewing. If you have ever come to one of our Sip & Stitches, then you know we like talking about it a lot. I think people that sew (whether apparel, quilts, bags, or something else) love hearing how other people solve problems or work through their own challenges.
With those thoughts in mind, we have decided to celebrate this glorious month by highlighting a few of the most common questions we hear at the shop. We picked several of our most favorite indie pattern designers and bloggers to answer a few questions. Most of the questions were geared towards those who were getting into sewing, but whether you are a beginner or an expert you can always learn something new, and we loved reading through everyone’s answers! Starting next week, we will have one question per week with the answers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from the amazing roster of people that responded. We expected only a few to respond, as we know how busy people are, but we were STUNNED at how many got back to us. That is what is so great about the sewing community: there is always a willingness to lend to hand and always room for more. I love it.
We are hoping that maybe you will find the inspiration to get your mojo back (if it’s a bit lost after summer), or if you are new to get the courage to go for it! The biggest goal is to spread the love of sewing and perhaps bring more people into the fold. It’s a win-win situation! 🙂
So, stay tuned for next week!
